RTÉ has announced that 'Kin', which debuted last September, will air a second season.

Season 2 of 'Kin' will start shooting this summer.

The first season was a hit for the Irish network with a consolidated average of over 621,000 viewers on RTÉ One and, to date, 2.7 million streams on RTÉ Player.

'Kin' stars Clare Dunne ('Herself'), Aidan Gillen ('Game of Thrones'), Charlie Cox ('Daredevil'), and recent Oscar nominee Ciarán Hinds ('Belfast').

The eight-part drama depicted the lives of the Kinsellas, a small but tight-knit crime family, as they wage war against a powerful drug lord named Eamon Cunningham (Hinds).

The 'Kin' season finale saw tensions boil over and violent action was taken.

Now the Kinsellas are the top dogs in Dublin.

But more problems have arisen and a new enemy with a vendetta comes forward.

The family was once close, but now suspicion, distrust and resentment threatens to tear them apart.

A "ruthless, bullying, agent of chaos" from within proves the greatest threat to the family of all.

The Kinsellas will have to be bold and sharp to pull through.

Kin is produced by BRON Studios and Headline Pictures, in association with RTÉ.

AMC+ has acquired the rights to the drama's two seasons for North America, Australia, New Zealand, Iberia, Latin America and the UK.
