If anybody needed to put their life in perspective last night coming into the New Year, they got it in the form of Donal Walsh's documentary on RTE 2.

The show 'Donal Walsh -- My Story' is still trending on twitter this morning and managed to trend worldwide following the show last night.

The doc told the inspiring story of the Kerry teenager who died last year after a four year battle with cancer.

The 16 year old came to the country's attention when he wrote a letter to young people urging them to think twice about suicide and ask for help. His plea gained him mass media attention and his death last May was mourned by many who had never even met the young man.
The programme also revealed the excellent news there had been no suicides in South Kerry for 6 months after Donal's plea.

Contributions were made from the likes of Paul O' Connell, Bressie and Kerry player Paul Galvin.
Brezzie tweeted during the show; "Honoured to be part of Donal Walsh documentary this evening. Remember, it's ok not to feel ok and it absolutely ok to ask for help #livelife"

The show was an absolutely heartbreaking watch but served as a reminder to all just how lucky we are. His sister and mother also took to twitter after the show with mother Elma saying; "To all a good night it really was a perfect night to have Donal my baby trending, he would be so thrilled and I know he is skipping in Heaven".
