What a day for breakups it's been, firstly Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale announce their split, then came the shocking news that Zayn Malik had ended his engagement to Perrie Edwards, and now, the worst of them all - Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy have called it quits. DEVASTATED.
Kermit the Frog announced the news at the Television Critics Association summer press tour today, and he has even released a statement on his Twitter;

It has also emerged that Kermit is dating another pig by the name of Denise who 'works in marketing'. Kermit, you TOAD!
Piggy however seemed to be handling the break-up well stating; "Dating moi is like flying close to the sun. It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to the ground while I stayed in the heavens."
You go girl!
The news comes ahead of the ABC’s The Muppets mockumentary comedy which premieres in September, so it's probably just a publicity stunt and obviously NONE of this is real - Kermit would never really leave Miss Piggy.
