The infamous 'Judge Judy' is about to set her wooden gavel aside, take her glasses off for good, and step down after a monumental 25 years on television.

Judge Judy Sheindlin is packing up her TV career as the most recognisable, and most quick-witted woman of justice. Her reign will end after her 25th and final season, which is due to begin airing later this year.

'Judge Judy' first began airing in 1996, has won three Emmy Awards, and her TV introduction brought us the iconic line of: "The people are real, the cases are real, the rulings are final - this is her courtroom."

The news broke on Variety this morning that Judge Sheindlin is set to make her announcement on 'The Ellen Show' later today, but this won't be the last time we'll be seeing her on our screens.

The TV personality has plans to launch a brand new TV series named 'Judy Justice', but details on the premise of the show is unknown as of yet. However, she reportedly said to DeGeneres: "I’m not tired. So 'Judy Justice' will be coming out."

It's the end of an era as we know it.

Please reminisce with us in watching a clip from 'Judge Judy' below, as she takes no bullsh*t from a guy who claims to have 10 children at the age of 21.

She responds to him by saying: "Perhaps if you stayed in school a little longer and stayed out of the bedroom, you'd understand better." Boom.
