John Wick: Chapter 2 has already doubled its opening weekend takings from the original, and the early word is that a finale is being talked about by both Reeves and director Chad Stohelski.

However, a report by /Film has it that Lionsgate are very interested in seeing a prequel TV series based on John Wick's exploits before the film. Speaking in an interview with /Film, Stohelski explained that the team behind John Wick "basically almost have a prequel written, but we’d save that for other aspects of the property."

"Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity, because I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film."

According to Stohelski, co-director David Leitch and writer Derek Kolstad, the film series has a definitive beginning, middle and end and that a prequel wouldn't work for a film series. To be fair, that makes a lot of sense. However, the reality is that action - for whatever reason - doesn't often translate well into TV series unless there's a serious budget behind it.

There's a few examples, of course, but for a John Wick TV series to work, it'd need a lot of work and a lot of strong directors on the case. What do you think? Could a John Wick TV series work?
