A 'Friends' reunion has been on the cards for years - but it may be closer than you think, if Jennifer Aniston is to be believed.

The actress was a guest on 'The Ellen Show' yesterday, and as all of the cast have been for the last 15 years, was asked about the possibility of getting the gang back together.

Instead of her usual non-committal answer, however, Aniston sparked hope in fans' hearts with her reply. "Listen, I told you this. I would do it….The girls would do it, and the boys would do it, I'm sure," she said. "Listen, anything can happen."

Aniston had previously spoken about how the girls - herself, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox - were up for a reunion, but hinted that David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry were less enthused. However, Aniston is also on record as saying that she wasn't sure that the show would work in a modern-day setting.

"There was something about a time where our faces weren't stuffed into cell phones," she told Lorraine Kelly in 2016. "We weren't checking Facebooks and Instagrams. We were in a room together, in a coffee shop together. We were talking, having conversations. We have lost that."

Producer Martha Kaufman had been adamant about the impossibility of a reunion as recently as two months ago, but things can change quickly...

'Friends' ran for ten seasons from 1994 - 2004. As you may recall, the final season saw Ross and Rachel reunite, Monica and Chandler prepare to move to the suburbs with their twins, Phoebe and Mike marry and Joey... well, not much happened to Joey.

It'd certainly be interesting to see where the characters are now.... or should it be left well alone?
