Creator Mike White teases what might be in store for our favourite holiday-maker.

Now that we know the exclusive holiday resort is a worldwide franchise, what's in store for our upcoming guests in 'The White Lotus' season three? The series creator has some ideas.

Even though season two hasn't even hit screens yet, and season three hasn't even been given the green light, it's safe to assume that we're going to be getting at least one more season with the snotty uber-rich in Mike White's anthological comedy/drama series.

The super successful first season set in Hawaii earned itself 20 Emmy Award nominations this year (and one Golden Globe nod for Jennifer Coolidge), a series all about the awkward and unfortunate mishaps at one of the world's most exclusive resorts for rich snobs.

Season two is set in Sicily, and sees Jennifer Coolidge's character Tanya McQuoid (and her husband, Greg, played by John Gries) be the only returning faces from the first outing. But will she return for a third instalment? Let's see what Mike White has to say.

Speaking with Deadline about what's next, White said that the drama might follow the trend of shifting continents. He said: "We just turned in our last episode to the network yesterday, so it’s hard to think about the next race. But if we did, I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent.

"You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun... Jennifer is my friend and everybody loved her in the first season, and I was like, 'I can’t go to Italy without Jennifer.' And maybe that’s still the case. Like, maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer, either.

"There are so many fun actors we’ve worked with so far, so it’s just kind of like who’s available."

Could that be a clue that Tanya McQuoid once again survives her second holiday in paradise? Following the trend from season one, season two of 'The White Lotus' will see one of the main characters meet their ends by day seven of their Italian getaway - but who will it be? All on the chopping board this time around are Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Tom Hollander, F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Sabrina Impacciatore and Meghann Fahy.

'The White Lotus' season two begins on Sky Atlantic and NOW on October 31.
