As awesome US actors go, Tim Robbins is probably up there with the best of 'em, and Jack Black is, well, mostly tolerable, so we were rather delighted to hear that the pair are teaming up for a new HBO comedy pilot.

As per Variety, the lads are joining the cast of The Brink, a half-hour long comedy which is being developed by executive producers Jerry Weintraub, Jay Roach and Roberto Benabib. The show centres on some manner of 'geopolitical crisis' which has a profound effect on three 'disparate and desperate men'.

Now, as you may have noticed, that there blurb said THREE men, and we've only spoken about two. Well, here's why: Robbins' is US secretary of state Walter Hollander, Black is a low-ranking foreign service officer, and the third role (that of Navy fighter pilot Zeke Callahan ) has yet to be cast.

Sounds exciting enough but here's hoping it isn't another massive failure, like pretty much every other star-powered comedy this year...
