We know you're expecting some serious Murder on the Dancefloor punnage right here, but since just about everyone's done that one to death (ba dumm chh), we figured we'd keep things relatively simple when discussing Sophie Ellis Bextor's latest career move.

The singer-songwriter is best known for the 2000 smash hit and we can't help but wonder if she'll be cha cha cha-ing along to it on Strictly Come Dancing later this year. The Sun reports that she's just scooped £25,000 in return for her participation. Nice. We wish someone would pay us that much for our wicked moves in Coppers...

Funnily enough, if it's true, her appearance would just coincide with the release her latest album Wanderlust, which will be her first big musical venture since  Make A Scene in 2011. All going to plan, the LP should hit the shelves in the autumn, so a few stints on Saturday night telly certainly couldn't do it any harm.

If the latest rumours about the show's line-up are to be believed, Sophie will join the likes of Hary Biker Dave Myers, model/ TV personality/ WAG Abby Clancy, and Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher.

We think Sophie will do just fine, and sure if she can't dance it ain't exactly the end of the world now, is it?
