We whooped with delight when he claimed the Big Brother crown in 2001, mostly because the novelty hadn't quite worn off back then, but now it seems as though Big Brother's ultimate housemate is finally facing permanent eviction.

If this morning's newspapers are to be believed, Brian Dowling is facing the chop from Channel 5's Big Brother. Sources (and well all know how reliable those can be now don't we) say that the BB bosses are lining up former MTV presenter Emma Willis, to take over the role.

Emma's already well known to Big Brother fans, having presented Big Brother's Bit On The Side for the past few years. Now it looks like Matt from Busted's wife (that takes me back) is being groomed as the next Davina McCaul (BLASPHEMY!)

“Brian has been a great host but Emma is seen by channel chiefs as a true successor to Davina. They’re talking to her now about taking over the role from the summer. Like Davina when she hosted the show, Emma’s young, a mum of two, and very glamorous. The audience love her on BBBOTS and execs want to capitalise on that. She’s thinking it over but it’s a great opportunity and she would be mad to turn it down." a source told The Sun, or so they claim.

It'd be a bold move for bosses though, because our Brian's apparently got a contract for two more series (this coming one and the 'sleb version), so they'd have to give him a hefty lump sum to say bye bye.

We'll keey an eye on this one, y'know, just in case anybody actually cares...
