It's all getting very Irish, isn't it? Bit like The Tudors so. Yup, news just in, Victoria Smurfit's followed in Katie McGrath's footsteps and joined the cast of NBC's Dracula.

She's set to play Lady Jane, a fashion-forward character who is instantly attracted to Jonathan Rhys Meyers' crafty Count. The Irish actress told IFTN that she's "really looking forward to working with Jonathan and Katie, I've heard they're both wonderful to work with".

The 10 part-series puts a bit of a twist on Bram Stoker's tale and sees Dracula arriving into 1890s London, disguised as an American businessman. He's out to find out who turned him into a vampire and modernise science at the same time. And there we were thinking men couldn't multi-task! Along the way he manages to fall in love with Mina Murrary, naturally.

IFTN says the show is set to start filming in Budapest in the next few weeks and you'll be able to catch it on Sky Living later this autumn.
