After the news broke the other day of Richard Hammond's horror crash in Switzerland, it would appear that The Grand Tour co-presenter may have damaged his knee - but he hasn't lost his sense of humour.

In a video message posted to DriveTribe, Hammond thanked fans and well-wishers for their support and explained that he's having his knee turned into "Swiss Army Knee," which we're assuming is some kind of surgery on his knees.

Hammond also mentioned in the video that his colleague on The Grand Tour, James 'Captain Slow' May, smuggled him in a bottle of gin and thanked the hospital staff and air ambulance for their work. DriveTribe also posted footage of the crash just seconds before it happened, in which the car Hammond was driving - a Rimac Concept Car - went flying off the road and into a ditch, where it caught fire.
