The "special edition" of the competition series will be broadcast in 2023.

Ant and Dec have some very good news for 'I'm A Celeb' fans - that all-star series really is happening.

Already filming in South Africa, with a 2023 release date, the special edition of the celebrity reality show will see some very familiar faces return to the franchise for a second turn at eating fowl local wildlife, crawling through caves and jumping out of helicopters.

Yep, they're bringing back celebrities who have already done their bit and have gotten the t-shirt on 'I'm A Celeb' from over the past 20 years and dropping them into South Africa to see who will come out as the ultimate champion.

And don't you worry, the regular series will be back before Christmas in its usual location in Australia later this year too.

The pair took to Twitter to reveal "the worst-kept secret in television".

Now - it's time to speculate as to who might be in the line-up. It really depends on if the all-star season will be only reserved for past winners OR if it's only reserved for those who failed to take the title the first time around OR if it's a mix of both. Presuming that this edition will be a mix of those who didn't win and those who are back to take the title for a second time, we have a few ideas of who would be mad enough to return.

Joe Swash (series eight winner) is a shoo-in, and other past season winners that also could return include Scarlett Moffatt (season 16 winner), Matt Willis (season six winner), Kian Egan (season 13 winner), Gino D'Acampo (season nine winner) and Danny Miller (season 21 winner).

Now, as to who we'd love to see return (but probably won't go anywhere near the series), the line-up for this edition includes Gillian McKeith (the one who kept fainting during season 10); Kerry "I can't do it!" Katona (season three winner); the meme-queen herself, Kim Woodburn (season nine runner-up); Janice "oh man!" Dickinson (season seven runner-up); and all-round good sport Harry Redknapp (season 18 winner).

This is all just speculation of course, so keep an eye out for more announcements about the 'I'm A Celeb' all-star series in the new year. 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' and hosts Ant and Dec will be back this November will a fresh batch of contestants heading down under.
