A dramatic new series to catch up on.
Michaela Coel, who you'll know for creating and starring in 'Chewing Gum' (which she won a Bafta award for), has brought another honest and thought-provoking series to our screens. And now that the 'Normal People' fire has started to quieten down, 'I May Destroy You' may be your next must-watch TV viewing experience.
Starring Coel as Arabella, the series follows the fearless, frank and provocative storyline of the young woman as she navigates her way through a lifestyle of partying, modern relationships, and the important topic of sexual consent.
The series is a joint venture for the BBC and HBO, and the first four episodes of the 12-part comedy/drama series have already aired on BBC One, so it's certainly one to keep an eye on this year.
Here's the reaction that the empowering show has been getting online. Hell, even Adele is praising it as the best thing she's seen in "yeaaaarssss!!".

‘I May Destroy You’ is the best thing I’ve seen on British TV for yeaaaarssss!! Go watch it on iplayer right now. It’s wholesome, uncomfortable, hilarious but terribly sad and then awkward...and then it makes you cough a bit for no reason and also makes you go put the kettle on, for no reason. You might pretend you need a pee and then you get a bit itchy, then it makes you ask your girls things you haven’t before. And then makes you want to run out in the street and laugh so hard like mad til you cry for absolute hours! I’ve never felt so many emotions at once! Absolutely fantastic ???????????? Michaela Coel bloody SMASHED it ? Pro ?? found ♥️

So #IMayDestroyYou is a bit special isn’t it? Luvin it so far! I’ve learnt more about women in this show than anything else I’ve watched. Not to mention @MichaelaCoel is ruddy brilliant! Her style is so refreshingly real.

Just watched the two new eps of I May Destroy You and I don't think I've seen a bolder, more truthful two hours of TV all year. @MichaelaCoel is a certified genius ?

#IMayDestroyYou this show is kinda hard to watch but in a good way. The topics and portrait of them are very raw so imma be honest and not recommend it if sexual assault is a trigger but is really an incredible show so far

It is all about #IMayDestroyYou right now. The writing is absolutely spot on and @MichaelaCoel is utterly unflinching in her exploration of consent - brave and provocative and really important. Bravo.
