After several attempts to get the ball rolling on a 'How I Met Your Mother' follow-up, it looks like 'How I Met Your Father' is well and truly underway.

The cast of 'How I Met Your Father' is led by Hilary Duff.

Duff is best-known for her childhood role in 'Lizzie McGuire', and more recently the series 'Younger'.

The series is for Hulu (so will likely debut on Disney+ on this side of the pond). It consists on ten episodes.

Duff shared a picture alongside her 'How I Met Your Father' co-stars, some of whom have scripts in hand, on social media.

She captioned the picture: "Who's ready for us??? We may or may not have been sitting in front of a certain someone's apartment…"

She added a hashtag we'll all be using soon enough - #himyf

Aside from Duff, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Suraj Sharma, Chris Lowell, and Brandon Micheal Hall also star.

'How I Met Your Father' was created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger ('This Is Us').

Original 'How I Met Your Mother' creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are executive producing alongside them.

The official synopsis from Hulu reads: "In the near future, Sophie (Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options."

A release date for the series has yet to be announced.
