We have just a month more to wait until the 'Game of Thrones' prequel series flies onto our screens. But will we be tuning in?

Judging by the trailer, we're certainly more interested than ever. A brand new and official 'House of the Dragon' trailer has dropped overnight, shedding more light on what fans can expect to see unfold over the first 10 episodes of season one.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s 'Fire & Blood' compendium of the House of Targaryen dynasty, the series is set 200 years before the events of 'Game of Thrones' and will chronicle the fall of the once great and noble family from Dragonstone. Of Valyrian descent, the dragonlords were once the rulers of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.

Leading the star-studded cast are Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen; Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, his younger brother; Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the King's first-born; Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower; Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon AKA The Sea Snake; Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen; and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

Is there a family tree handy? it seems we might need to pay close attention to who is who during these opening episodes, otherwise we might be as confused as the first few seasons of 'Game of Thrones' (until everyone started dying off and it got a bit easier).

Here's the official 'House of the Dragon' trailer.

It looks like there will be a sibling versus sibling and dragon versus dragon tussle unfolding, with Matt Smith's Prince Daemon and Emma D’Arcy's Princess Rhaenyra vying for the throne.

See how it all unfolds when 'House of the Dragon' begins on Sky Atlantic and NOW on Monday, August 22.
