Awards season may have come to an end for the movie world but we will have to wait until September before we get to see the TV equivalent of the Oscars take place, which is of course the Emmys.

The show has already picked its host too with Late Night presenter Jimmy Kimmel taking over the reins from last year's Andy Samberg. Kimmel is an obvious choice as the awards have now returned to ABC this year where Jimmy Kimmel Live airs.

Kimmel previously hosted the event once before back in 2012 and caused quite a commotion on social media when he had Tracy Morgan pretend to pass out on stage with Kimmel telling viewers to tweet; "OMG, Tracy Morgan just passed out on stage at the Emmys, turn ABC on now!", resulting in 25,000 people tweeting out the message.

No doubt's he'll have more messing planned for this year.

Nominees will be announced on July 14th, and the Emmys will air on September 18th. The ceremony itself will take place on September 10th and 11th, at LA's Microsoft Theater.
