There'll be plenty of Home And Away fans who remember sobbing their little hearts out when Summer Bay's constable Jack Holden was tragically killed in 2009, so we're guessing they'll be pretty happy to hear what he's up to now.

Paul O'Brien has been busy working on smaller projects in Australia but he recently took time out from a film shoot to make a guest appearance on rival soap Neighbours. He'll pop up on Aussie screens as a client of Toadie Rebecchi's from October 10th, with his scenes expected to air in the UK and Ireland some time around November.

You might notice that he's err, changed a bit since his days on Home and Away, but O'Brien quickly explained all about the transformation."The beard was definitely non-negotiable as I needed it to finish the film. However, the timing worked out well to do both projects, and I hope the new look adds to the role. I've had a lot of double takes with people saying, "Aren't you...?" and then they just walk on", he said.

He's not the first Summer Bay actor to make the leap, with the likes of Kip Gamblin (Scott Hunter) and Rebekah Elmaloglou (Sophie Simpson) currently on board. Dieter Brummer (Shane Parrish) had a guest stint as Sonia's ex, while Bobby Morley (Drew Curtis) previously popped up on Ramsay Street as a love interest for Chris Pappas.

Sorry Paul, but you'll always be Jack in our book.
