As you may have already heard, the judging panel on this year's X Factor has gone through a major shake-up.

Simon Cowell is the only original judge left on the show, while he's drafted in former 1D member Louis Tomlinson as well as Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field, too.

All four judges made their first collective appearance at a press conference yesterday, alongside presenter Dermot O'Leary. Sharon Osbourne will join the panel as an impartial fifth judge during the live shows, with no acts of her own.

"I've done tour, promo, tour, promo for nearly thirty years - and now it's time to branch out and do something different," said Williams, adding that his former bandmate (and X Factor judge) Gary Barlow had given him some words of advice. "I emailed him this morning, and he just sent me his best wishes. I'll know what questions to ask him as of tomorrow, because the audition process starts. So if there's anybody's ear that I'm going to be bending, it'll be Gary's. Also David Walliams, who's a mate of mine, I'll be bending his ear too. But we don't really know what we're in for."

The new series is expected to premiere on September 1st.
