The TV Choice Awards took place last night in Park Lane's London Hilton hotel where all the stars of British TV lined out in their Sunday best for the annual bash. Have to say, they scrub up pretty well too, boob tubes and all.

So who walked away with a gong? Well EastEnders managed to beat off competition from Corrie, Emmer and Hollyoaks by bagging the Best Soap Award.

Irish actor Aidan Turner will no doubt be delighted that Poldark walked away with Best New Drama.

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway of course won Best Entertainment Show, poor aul Graham Norton can never get a look-in when those two are in his category..

While Sheridan Smith won the Best Actress award for her role in Cilla and had some lovely words to say about the late entertainer too; "Obviously, it's tinged with sadness," she said on stage. "It's an absolute honour and privilege to play such an amazing lady. Thank you Cilla."
