'The Outsider' is undoubtedly the show we're all going to be hooked on in January. Adapted from Stephen King's acclaimed novel of the same name, it stars Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn and looks very creepy.

It centres on police detective Ralph Anderson who "sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney, whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable."

Mendelsohn takes the lead in the 10-episode series as Detective Anderson while Bateman plays the accused murderer. Bateman, who recently won an Emmy for directing an episode of 'Ozark', is set to direct the first two installments of 'The Outsider'. Cynthia Erivo also stars as Gibney, the P.I. called in to help Anderson uncover the truth of what happened to the young child found in the woods.
