Move over Matthew Macfadyen, there's a new Mr Darcy in town, and no, we're not talking about Ray. Matthew Rhys has just been cast as the latest incarnation of the literary heartthrob.

Rhys, who is probably best known for his role as Kevin in Brothers & Sisters, will join BAFTA Award-winning actress Anna Maxwell Martin and Stoker star Matthew Goode in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Death Comes to Pemberly.

Set six years after 'Pride and Prejudice', Death Comes to Pemberly is a murder mystery, and comes courtesy of P.D. James. The highly acclaimed English crime fiction writer (who is now 92) is most famous for her detective novels, so it's no surprise that she chose to continue Austen's iconic tale in such fashion. You can also thank her for Clive Owen starrer Children of Men, which was also based on one of her novels.

Anyway, we think the cast is looking pretty solid: Who better to take on the role of the evil yet stunningly handsome Mr Wickham than Matthew Goode eh? Sure he could make anyone go weak the the knees with a cheeky grin, while simultaneously acting like a total cad. Look how easily he melted your own TV Ed in an interview earlier this year. The man quite simply oozes charm.

Bravo BBC, bravo.
