The future of a lot of The Simpsons' most loved characters was in jeopardy for the upcoming seasons after Harry Shearer quit the show earlier this year. But fans of the show and Mr. Burns, Flanders, Principal Skinner, Otto, Smithers and many others can rest easy as Shearer will return to the show which Fox confirmed today in a release.
"Fox is proud to confirm that each and every member of the iconic series' voice cast will be returning in the roles they've brought to life since the show's beginnings as a series of animated shorts nearly 30 years ago" the network confirmed this evening, heralding in two more seasons with everyone's favourite characters.
Shearer announced his departure from the show back in May, after allegedly holding out on his contract due to "issues with back-end and merchandising".
Now we'll just have to see if they make it to season 30.
