If Love/Hate has proved anything, it's that there is nothing we love more here than a bit of homegrown drama. Well RTE and the Irish Film Board have decided to make good use of that and will release five new original online dramas.

It's all part of a new season of Storyland, which has previously brought us the likes of online hits like Hardybucks, and was set up to identify new talent in Ireland. Executive Producer for RTÉ Television, David Crean said; “Across writing, acting and directing, Storyland showcases the great breadth of Ireland’s creative talent and has proven to be a hugely important commissioning platform for RTÉ and the Irish Film Board to build working relationships with new and emerging creative entrepreneurs for the TV and film industry in Ireland.”

A new short is set to be released every Monday on the RTE Player, with the first one already out yesterday called 'Burning Wishes' made by Deadpan Pictures, and it will be followed next week by Belfast-set Crime Drama 'Farr', then Dublin-set thriller 'Ctrl' on February 2, sci-fi drama 'Rapt' on February 9, and Cork-based comedy/drama '(R)onanism' on February 16.

Looking forward to checking out all of them, and great to see some new Irish talent getting a look in. Who knows, maybe they'll even get a series out of one of them.
