'First Dates Ireland' has had many an awkward moment over the years, and damn it for as cringe-worthy as they are, they do make for great TV.
Last night's victim of most embarrassing moment went to Gerard from Tipperary. He was greeted on his date by sisters Nichola (52) and Sinead (37) from Malahide, and even though they introduced themselves as sisters, he still somehow made the mistake of calling them mother and daughter.
It must have been nerves because Gerard just didn't seem to know what was going on for a minute.
Let's watch the moment of realisation one last time shall we?
Viewers found it pretty entertaining though:

Oops! Mother and daughter! The face on poor Gerard as it dawned on him that he'd put the boot in. #FirstDatesIRL
