Maitre’D Mateo, master-mixologist Ethan, Alice and Pete are at the ready for a new group of hopefuls searching for love this year.

Series six of 'First Dates Ireland' kicks off tomorrow night, and here's what we know about who will be sitting down at their very long tables for a first date.

First up, it'll be Tracy from Dublin, who gets paired up with redhead Rob from Cork, followed by Amy and Sean, both from Dublin. Tralee actor Tim Landers, who has appeared on 'Game of Thrones' and 'Fair City' in the past, will also be looking for love, with painter decorator Rory from Sligo being his date for the evening.

However, one date we can't wait to see is 35-year-old Shane from Meath, who hasn't been on a date in 14 years. He suffered a brain injury while on a Christmas party, falling and hitting his head, leaving him on life support for two weeks.

He said of the ordeal: "Everything in life changes, your job is gone and any relationships you have are over,  everything is gone, your friends are gone. Through all that you would suffer different mental health problems as part of what had happened."

On the first episode of the season, Shane gets set up with single mum Avril, who says she hasn't been on a date in ten years. As you can see in the clip below, Shane brought his sister along to the restaurant, who is sitting at the table next to them.

The sixth series of 'First Dates Ireland' was filmed at a time when we were able to sit in a restaurant last year. All of the daters are suitably distanced, with no physical contact allowed, and all of the background diners are in family and friend bubbles of the daters we meet.

Here's a sneak peek at what's to come for dater Shane in the first episode on TV tomorrow night.
