Long before false nails, fake tan, and One Direction, the children of Ireland spent many a Sunday evening in front of the telly with mammy and daddy. The closing bars of the Glenroe theme may have heralded the trek upstairs, but before we headed down to the farm, we caught up with Gerry Ryan and the kids on School Around The Corner.

Well, it looks as though a whole new generation will get to experience the old Irish classic in all its glory, as the folks over at Tyrone Productions have teamed up with Ray D'Arcy to bring it back to our TV screens. And if you fancy being part of the action, you can even head along to see it being filmed. If you're free on May 27th, 28th or 29th, and can make your way to TV3 Studios in Ballymount, Dublin 24, then all you have to do is send your name, contact details, and the number of tickets you require to [email protected]. You MUST be over 18, and all applicants can't be guaranteed tickets for the show.

1. The kids who sold their families down the river with tales from home and talk of 'favourite' family members

2. The kids who didn't say what the researchers told Gerry they would

3. The kids who actually had rather interesting life stories to tell

4. The kids who were well able to talk about the big issues of the day

5. The kids in the choir

And if you missed the Christmas Special, here's the kind of thing we hope to see an awful lot more of...
