Watching telly On Demand is all the rage these days, be it on TV, laptops or smartphones, so it's no surprise that a couple of channels are actually offering shows up via the new service before they premiere in real-time.

Take Sky Living for example: They've just launched brand new drama series Hannibal (starring the delightful Hugh Dancy as a dishy detective, and Casino Royale villain Mads Mikkelson as the titular cannibal) on demand, almost a week before it hits our TV screens on May 7th. And Pocket-lint reports that it won't be the only series coming to us first via the new service either...

Yep, if you're a big fan of Trollied, Mad Dogs or The Borgias, you'd better take note: All three series will return later this year, but are scheduled for an on demand release ahead of their live broadcast in future. That's good news for the likes of Sky, which really wants to push its on demand content: The broadcaster says 45,000 of its customers linked their set top box up to home broadband every week from January to March 2013.

So, it seems this whole On Demand TV thing is really starting to take off: It's no wonder Pat Rabbitte has some serious plans for those of us who just watch telly on the laptops (You can see what he had to say about the TV licence earlier this week right here).

And if you like your stories on demand you're in for a treat: We've got some of the best On Demand TV picks coming to you every week via our brand new On Demand TV section. You'll never miss a beat.
