Remember when you were a kid and you thought it would be gas craic to enter competitions on The Late Late Show for mammy and daddy more than once? Or voted about six times for Mickey Joe Harte to win You're A Star? Well, you ain't got nothing on one English lass, who racked up a bill for more than £1,000 voting for Lucy Pargeter to win I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.

As per The Mirror, 18-year-old Nicole Hassall spent six hours on the phone (yes, SIX hours) after Wednesday night's episode, repeatedly making calls to ITV's premium-rate voting line so as to ensure her favourite contestant (Emmerdale star Lucy) could win."I did vote but I really wanted Lucy or Kian from Westlife to win" the teenager told the newspaper."I had no idea the bill would be this much. I'm really upset."

And so is her mammy, who is only raging that their telephone service provider didn't let her know what the young wan was up to. "It's absolutely disgusting that Orange didn't let me know what was happening", she said, before revealing that she'd have to use the £250 she'd been saving up to spend on her daughter's Christmas present to pay the bill.

"In the voting terms and conditions, it says voters should only vote with the bill payer's permission" ITV said in a statement. "We are happy to explore this issue if we are provided with more information." Meanwhile, Orange did something rather charitable themselves, opting to waive a portion of the phone bill, leaving the family with £454 to pay before Christmas.

Lesson of the week lads: Always ask your mammies and daddies before voting for the 'slebs.
