The 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards will release their nominations this afternoon.
Which TV series up for nominations for the Emmy Awards 2020 is set to be revealed today in a virtual presentation.
Former 'Saturday Night Live' actress Leslie Jones will host the virtual reveal of the nominees. She'll be joined by 'Orange is the New Black' actress Laverne Cox, 'Frozen' voice actor Josh Gad, 'Orphan Black' star Tatiana Maslany, and Television Academy CEO Frank Scherma.
There have been rumours of 'Normal People' nabbing a number of nominations this year, after taking the world by storm during lockdown. Lead stars of the drama series Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones are both expected to each get a nod for their roles as Connell and Marianne.
Other prospective nominees up for contention this year are Netflix titles 'The Crown' and 'Ozark', Hugh Jackman's 'Bad Education', 'Euphoria' starring Zendaya, Apple TV+'s 'Defending Jacob', and Mark Ruffalo's 'I Know This Much is True'.
Jimmy Kimmel is set to produce and host the 2020 Emmys, which will air this September 20.
