It's been a year of crackin' story lines for EastEnders and they were duly rewarded with the highly coveted Best Soap gong at the TV Choice Awards last night. Not only that, but they also bagged Special Contribution to Television, while newcomer Danny Dyer (innit) won Best Soap Actor as well as Lindsey Coulson (who plays Carol) winning Best Soap Actress.

Corrie did get the nod for Best Storyline for Hayley's Cancer while Hollyoaks claimed Best Soap Newcomer for Kirsty-Leigh Porter.

Other winners on the night included Ant and Dec (when do not win something), Sherlock and Jeremy Kyle while Game of Thrones scooped the Best International Show title.
