Since The Office wrapped up all those years ago, David Brent has become quite possibly the most missed smug face in Britain and Ireland. It's difficult to explain how Brent fans differentiate it from Ricky Gervais' regular face but once you get it you never go back. To quickly sum it up, Brent is a lovable fool whereas Gervais himself just needs a slap now and again, as talented as he can be. Seems they'll be dancing the robot once again now though, because Brent is on the way back...
OK, so they aren't reviving The Office, but the Wernham Hog boss will return to our computer screens for a series of YouTube videos entitled Learn Guitar With David Brent. Launching in June on Gervais' YouTube channel, there will be a new episode each month, and the series will include full versions of Brent's original songs, previously featured in The Office such as 'Spaceman Came Down' anyone?
Gervais has said he is looking forward to bringing his legendary character back to life, stating that YouTube is 'the future'. Sounds like something Brent would say himself before diverging into a ramble he would think was philosophical. Maybe Gervais is slowly morphing into his own creation?
