You’re probably aware at this stage that we are big fans of John Wick.

Starring Keanu Reeves as a ‘retired’ assassin, the first John Wick movie came out in 2014 while its sequel was released this year (making twice as much in the box office as its predecessor, by the way).

Both of them were awesome and thus the news of a Chapter 3 in the series, and a TV spin-off, was welcomed.

Following an interview between Indiewire and writer- director Chad Stahelski, more details about the TV show have emerged.

The series will reportedly delve deeper into the world of assassins that was presented in John Wick: Chapter 2. The title of the series is The Continental, the name of the hotel chain that serves as a respite for assassins and gives them access to resources for their work.

John Wick will not be the protagonist though as the series will follow others with a relationship to the Continental. Chadleski explains: “I like telling stories from my one character’s perspective. Once you put that aside with the TV show, [you can] expand to all the different characters and follow them throughout their journey.

“You can be with the consigliere, concierge, the sommelier — you can be with all these different characters and walk through the world in different aspects; ones that I’m a little limited [from exploring] by staying with my lead guy.”

As for whether Wick might still make an appearance, Chadleski said he “think[s] he would.” As for his own involvement with the show, Chadleski says he’d like to stay on the project for as long as possible, seeing it through development and possibly directing a few episodes.
