We thought this was a bid of an odd one, no? Maybe it's because we only really know Denise Van Outen from her Big Breakfast days, even though she has been knocking around the smedia for a while in fairness to her.
The presenter-come-actress-come-Strictly runner up will join the cast of EastEnders for a guest appearance in the spring as a new love interest for one Albert Square resident. However the identity of that lucky person has yet to be revealed.
Van Outen said: "I'm really excited to be joining EastEnders as I've been a fan of the series for years.This year marks the show's 30th anniversary, so it feels even more special to be part of the celebration."
While the show's Executive Producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, added: "It was only a matter of time before Denise Van Outen walked onto the Square. She will definitely make her presence felt."
The news follows on from last week's announcement that Richard Blackwood will join the soap. So all we need now is Donna Air and Chris Evans and it's officially the nineties again folks.
