It's been rumoured for quite some time, but now it's official - Cynthia Nixon is running for Governor of New York.
The actress - best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes in Sex and the City - announced her candidacy for New York's upcoming state governor race in an impassioned video where she laid out her manifesto and what she plans to do if she won. Nixon will square off against incumbent Andrew Cuomo of the Democratic Party in the upcoming gubernatorial campaign.
