Late Night talk show host Conan O' Brien is set to host the MTV Movie Awards for the first time this April, and we just couldn't be happier about it. Let the man host the Oscars already for crying out loud! O' Brien, who hosts the American chat show 'Conan', was seen as a logical choice by MTV as he will be able to reach a millennial audience considering he has such a large presence on social media.

YouTube supergroup Our2ndLife are planning a unique series of promotions leading up to and during the event, which we have to say we our looking forward to as much as the actual night itself. Conan said in a statement: "After eight years of intense negations, I am honored to announce I am hosting MTV’s second-most prestigious awards show."

Conan has previously hosted the Emmy's back in 2006, and proved a success, so no doubt he will hit all the right notes in April. Last year's host was Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson, who was funny and all, but come on, Conan O' Brien? There's no comparision.

The big night will take place on Sunday, April 13, from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, and nominees for the awards are set to be released shortly.

Here's his Emmy's intro for a wee taster of what we can expect:
