Looks like the 'six seasons and a movie' theory may just pan out for TV show 'Community'. The fifth series of the NBC series is coming to an end shortly, but it's looking likely another 13 episode season is on way, and maybe even a movie to finish things off for the Greendale gang.
According to TV Guide, it's thought that Justin Lin, who directed the last four movies in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise will get on board to helm the feature if it happens. Lin has previously directed several episodes of 'Community', although so have 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' directors Joe and Anthony Russo and 'Super Troopers' director Jay Chandrasekhar. So they would undoubtedly be candidates too.
Show creator Dan Harmon is determined it will happen though, he told Hitfix; "If the movie has to be made out of clay and duct tape in my basement, then that's how the movie will be made, because there has to be closure," he said. "The title of the book about the show is not Community, An Interesting Journey into a Show No One Ever Watched. The title of the book is obviously going to be, Six Seasons and a Movie."
For those that don't know, that line came from character Abed (Danny Pudi) in season two, who insisted the TV show he loved (The Cape) would last 'six seasons and a movie'. When Community was removed from NBC's schedule in December 2011 and October 2012, fans used the hashtag "#SixSeasonsAndAMovie" to show their support for the show.
At this stage, it just has to happen really, although we wouldn't argue with seven seasons and a movie either!
