Actor Chris Fountain has been suspended from Coronation Street after they found a series of offensive rap videos featuring him on YouTube. The actor plays mechanic Tommy in the show, who shares an on-screen romance with Tina (Michelle Keegan).

In the videos adopts a different alter-ego - The Phantom. Wearing a Hallowe’en mask and hoodie some of his lyrics included:

'I will f*** anybody up in the worst way, rape a bitch on her birthday.''

''I'm a motherf***ing demon, I’ll stab you in the face with a diseased needle.''

The videos received thousands of hits but are currently unavailable since Chris turned his privacy settings on, who also issued the following apology:

''I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused. I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour.

''The videos were made over a year ago when I was experimenting with music and I’ve not done anything like it since, nor will I.''

Show bosses at Corrie said: ''ITV find the language used and the views expressed in this video totally unacceptable. Chris Found has been suspended pending further inquiries into this matter.''

With Michelle Keegan set to leave the show next year, Fountain’s future with the show is looking increasingly more uncertain. Could this be the final nail in the coffin for him?
