For all you die hard Doctor Who fans get yourselves down to the IFI on the 10th November to mark the 50th anniversary of the much loved franchise. The IFI will be showing the Doctor's only two outings on the big screen to date, Dr. Who and the Daleks and Dalek’s Invasion of Earth 2050 A.D.

Kicking off at 4.15pm on the 10th November, the first film of the double bill, Dr. Who and the Daleks, sees the Doctor, granddaughters Susan and Barbara, and Barbara's boyfriend Ian arrive on Skaro, a planet desolated by an ancient nuclear war between the Daleks and the Thals. Mutated by the fallout, the Daleks seek a drug from the Thals which will protect them and enable them to exterminate their old foe Followed at 6.15pm by the Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 A.D where the Doctor and Susan return, this time with his niece Louise and policeman Tom (Bernard Cribbins, who would later be of such significance to the Tenth Doctor). Finding themselves on a ruined Earth, with the human race enslaved by the Daleks, the group join the resistance.

And if that wasn't enough for all you Whovians, writer and filmmaker Derek O'Connor will be giving a free IFI Afternoon Talk on the Dr. Who phenomenon: Bigger on the Inside - Doctor Who at 50 will take place on 29th November at 4.30pm. An idiosyncratic and personal take on the show’s turbulent history, from its '60s heyday to '80s nadir and triumphant 21st century rebirth.

Tickets for the double bill €15; tickets for each film at normal prices. Tickets for the talk are free but must be reserved at the IFI Box Office (01 679 3477 or www.ifi.ie). Times of all performances are below.
