The American critics couldn't choose between Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones so they decided to deem both series Best Drama at last night's Critics Choice Awards.

Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston nabbed the show's only solo award, being crowned Best Actor in a Drama Series just weeks before the show's final episodes air. Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie went to Elisabeth Moss for her role in new drama Top of The Lake, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jane Fonda also picked up acting awards for their roles in Veep and The Newsroom. T'was a good night for HBO anyway.

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series ended in another tie, with The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco sharing the honours with The Middle's Eden Sher. The Big Bang Theory walked away with Best Comedy though, and a Best Supporting Actor nod for Simon 'Howard Wolowitz' Helberg. And there was also joy for Star Trek's Zachary Quinto. Himself and his American Horror Story: Asylum co-star Sarah Paulson picked up the Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Movie or Miniseries.

Meanwhile, HBO's Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra claimed a rather important victory (the bigwigs in America were afraid to show it in the cinema) scooping the award for Best Movie or Mini-Series. Plus, Michael Douglas beat off tough competition from his co-star Matt Damon to nab the award for Best Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series.

And in the biggest upset of the night, Best Actress in a Drama Series went to Tatiana Maslany for BBC America's Sci-Fi drama Orphan Black. Insert Claire Danes' cryface here.

Now tell us, did the right shows win?
