There has been speculation about the actor being cast in the second series of the hit detective show for the last few months, but to be honest, we daren't have hoped. However it seems the star is just about to sign on the dotted line, with the only difficulty being working around his movie scheduling.
A source confirmed: “Brad is already part of the HBO family and if commitments allow he will be part of the second season of True Detective." Going on to say; "The quality of the scripts means the biggest A-listers in the world want the role.”
The first series starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson who both wrote and executive produced the show, but both have said they would not be returning to the roles of Rust Cohle and Marty Hart for the second season. Which absolutely makes sense really, as the series was clearly written as a stand along story.
There are however many more directions season two could take with showrunner Nic Pizzolatto saying that the next series would be about "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."
Yeah, we don't know what that means either but BRAD PITT people! Here's hoping he can sort out whatever scheduling difficulties are causing the problem, surely Angelina could look after all those childers for a few weeks, no?
