This is welcome news if we ever heard it, the hit series finished up its eight episodes run last week in the US, but both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have said they won't be back for a second season. However, given the success of the HBO show, the network would be pretty crazy not to attempt to give it another whirl, and let's face it, not many actors would be turning the role down in a hurry.
One person in particular has been given more attention for this than any other it seems, according to Hollywoodlife.com, "Brad’s name has come up many times, it’s just a matter of what his other commitments are. It’s the show everyone wants to be on, because the writing and the roles are just so exquisite and complex. Brad has tight relations with HBO — he teamed up with Ryan Murphy last year to produce the HBO movie The Normal Heart. I know everyone would be thrilled to have him on board."
The star is certainly not unfamiliar to the odd gritty detective role or two, who could forget him in Se7en? (Above) It's been a long time since we saw Pitt do anything near the small screen however, but seeing as TV's cool factor has gone up truck loads in Hollywood these last few years, it may seem like a natural move for the actor to make. Plus let's face it, everything Brad Pitt touches seems to turn to gold - 12 Years a Slave raked it in big at the Oscars, and Steve McQueen himself said the movie couldn't have been made without Pitt.
The actor told OK! magazine recently too that he wanted to focus more on producing so that he could spend more time with Angie and the football-team-size family he's got going on. Maybe TV would fit into this schedule though? We reckon Pitt would nail it anyways, but who would make a good cop partner for him? Ed Norton is all I'm saying, someone needs to call that guy.
