Considering how 'Big Little Lies' finished out its first season, you got the sense that it was either to going to leave itself closed off for or immediately go into a second season.
Fortunately for all concerned, the second season is on the way and will feature bright, upcoming acting talent Meryl Streep in the role of Alexander Skarsgard's on-screen mother.
Picking up almost exactly where the last season left off, the Monterey Five - that's Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz and Shailene Woodley - are now being investigated for the death of Alexander Skarsgard, because nobody believes that he "just fell."
On top of the pressure from the police and hiding the fact that they all witnessed his death, there's also the fact that his mother - the aforementioned Streep - is now in the mix and getting ready to stir up some sh*t between them all.
In short, it's going to be twisty and Meryl Streep is going to act everybody off the screen. Can't wait, to be honest.
'Big Little Lies' arrives on Sky Atlantic on June 9th.
