It's not just the Irish stars of the big screen that are making their mark on awards season this year.

The BAFTA TV Award nominations were revealed yesterday, and a host of Irish TV stars are amongst the nominees.

They include Sharon Horgan's 'Bad Sisters', which has been nominated in 'Best Drama' - while Ann-Marie Duff (whose parents are Irish) is nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress' in the series, and Dearbhla Walsh is nominated in the Director: Fiction category.

Cork native Fiona Shaw has also been nominated for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her role in 'Andor', while 'Derry Girls' clocked up two nominations: one for Siobhan McSweeney in the 'Female Performance in a Comedy Programme' category, and two for writer Lisa McGee in the 'Scripted Comedy' and 'Writer: Comedy' categories.

Nancy Harris, writer of 'The Dry', is also nominated in the 'Writer: Comedy' category.

A few Irish men managed to get a look-in too, most notably Cillian Murphy, who earns his first-ever BAFTA nomination for 'Leading Actor' for his role as Tommy Shelby in 'Peaky Blinders', while 'The Graham Norton Show' is up for 'Comedy Entertainment Programme'.

The TV BAFTAS take place at London's Royal Festival Hall on May 14th.
