We all know at least one talented kid who deserves a spot on Ireland's biggest TV show.

Applications for 'The Late Late Toy Show' 2022 have officially opened and here's how you can get your shining stars on the telly later this year.

Yep, if you can believe it, as the summer begins to slowly wind down and the sun continues to split the rocks on our island, it's already time to start looking ahead at getting the kids back to school for a new year. There's also something else we need to look forward to - what we'll be watching this winter.

While we've got an inkling as to the type of series we'll be watching on demand in the coming months, we don't know all that much about what's to come on terrestrial television this autumn and winter. However, one Irish staple is guaranteed - the all-singing, all-dancing, all-round pre-Christmas treat - 'The Late Late Toy Show'.

This morning's 'Ryan Tubridy Show' on RTÉ Radio 1 announced that applications are now open for the talented little ones who are up for wowing us with their wonderous abilities, and also for the children out there who are more hands-on with their toy demonstrations. So if you've got a lover of books, of video games, or a mini-me who will have the nation laughing with their innocent slating of the host's collection of Christmas jumpers, then get applying.

Those interested in being part of the madness can head to the application page for 'Toy Show' 2022 on RTÉ here.

While the theme of this year's 'Toy Show' remains under wraps for the time being, host Ryan Tubridy teased: "We are going to go large this year!" In the past, we've had a theme based around 'Frozen', Roald Dahl, 'The Jungle Book', 'The Lion King' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
