Ah TV comedians. They give us a whole lotta laughter (or don't as the case may be) so it's only fitting that they get their own awards ceremony, right? The British Comedy Awards just so happen to be taking place next week and the nominees have finally been revealed.

Jonathan Ross is on hand to host the ceremony on December 12th, which will see the likes of Adam Hills, Alan Carr, Sarah Millican and Graham Norton going head to head for funny glory.

Hills is at the head of the pack with three nominations, no doubt inspired by his brilliant turn as the host of the very amusing Last Leg on Channel 4 earlier this year. Adam's nabbed nods for Best Comedy Breakthrough Artist and Best Comedy Entertainment Personality, while The Last Leg is in the running for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme.

The show has tough competition from Graham Norton and Alan Carr though, and sure couldn't Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway prove the dark horse of the competition?

And the battle for Best Female TV Comic won't be too easily won either, with Miranda Hart (sorry, I just don't get it at all) Nina Conti, Sarah Millican and Great British Bake Off hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc all fighting for the title.

It certainly looks set to be an interesting evening, but sure don't you know we'll be rooting for our Graham all the way.
