The new season of 'American Horror Story' has revealed its subtitle.

*Drumroll please* The next season of FX's anthology series will be called... 'American Horror Story: 1984'.

Set to Billie Eilish's 2016 track 'Six Feet Under', the new teaser released from 'AHS' creator Ryan Murphy sees a petrified young girl attempt to get away from a man with a rather large knife. That's right, it only took nine seasons, but we're finally getting a slasher series.

Here's the brief trailer for you below on Instagram.

AHS SEASON 9 is called...

Or if you'd rather watch it on Twitter, here's that version too.

That's all the new information we have on the new season for now, which will premiere some time later this year, in the Autumn. From what we know already, only Emma Roberts has been confirmed as returning to the anthology series for her fifth season; while 'AHS' newcomer Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy will play her on-screen boyfriend.

However, who else is on board for the new season still remains unknown. No doubt many other 'American Horror Story' alums will be showing up for the new season, but whether they will be in a primary role, or a cameo remains a mystery. Season eight saw Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, and Angela Bassett all return to our screens for the end-of-the-world 'Apocalypse' series last year.

With it being a slasher series, there might be more casualties than usual - as per every slasher movie ever made ('Scream' and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' we're looking at you). Expect to hear more casting announcements very soon.
