The split between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow was one of the most scandalous in celebrity history and continues to be some three decades on.

There's been accusations of sexual abuse, Allen eventually marrying Soon-Yi Previn, who was Mia Farrow's adoptive daughter, not to mention all of it playing out in front of cameras as well, means it's ripe material for a documentary series.

'Allen v. Farrow', a new four-part documentary series by HBO, attempts to probe the sexual abuse allegations by Dylan Farrow and uses video footage from their relationship that's never been released in public, as well as first-time interviews with players in the scandal.

Not surprisingly, Woody Allen, Soon-Yi Previn, and Moses Farrow did not cooperate with the documentary's production and weren't interviewed. Moses Farrow, who is Mia Farrow's adopted son, has publicly defended Allen in the past and is now a therapist on "adoption trauma".

If it all sounds tangled and messed up, it's no wonder that there's a four-part documentary series on the whole thing.

Here's the trailer. No word yet on when this will be available on this side of the Atlantic.
