She may have starred in some of the best sitcoms of the last decade but Alison Brie was once a struggling actress auditioning for bit part roles in hit TV shows.

And sometimes that audition process was a lot creepier than you'd expect from hit TV shows in the 21st century.

While participating on a panel to promote her new Netflix series GLOW, Brie discussed how the auditioning process hasn't changed all that much for actresses since the 80s (when the show is set).

“It has not changed that much,” said Brie. “The audition process has not changed that much.”

She then went on to recall an audition she had for Entourage in which she was asked to take her top off.

“Early in my career, I auditioned for three lines on an episode of Entourage that I had to go on in a bikini!” she said. “Or like shorts and the tiniest shorts. And they were like, ‘Okay, can you take your top off now?'”

Brie's GLOW co-star Betty Gilpin also recalled an audition where she was auditioning in a room full of men and one of them asked her to take her hair down after she had finished the scene.

GLOW's casting director Jen Euston took to Twitter after the panel to voice her outrage.

HBO have yet to respond to Brie's comments.
