Oh Alec Baldwin. It's been a busy year for the 30 Rock star, what with the series ending and his stalker finally being jailed, but the past few weeks haven't exactly been the best for him. We guess that's how it goes when you end up in the middle of a 'gay slur' row though.

Two weeks ago Baldwin's MSNBC late-night talkshow was temporarily pulled from the air while the network investigated claims that the host (the man himself) had allegedly used an anti-gay slur when dealing with a reporter.

There's been little word from the Up Late camp since then, and just last night the network confirmed that the talk show had been cancelled. "We are jointly confirming that 'Up Late' will not continue on MSNBC" a joint statement from Baldwin and the network read. "This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best."

We're guessing he would have been better off sticking to the comedy scene so...
